Entry Requirements for MWC22

Entry Requirements for MWC22

Here’s a handy checklist to help you prepare for the event this year – it’s critical that you follow and complete the following steps before arriving at MWC22:

Step 1:

Register by uploading your photo and ID

It is mandatory for all MWC22 attendees to be fully pre-registered online – before arriving at the event. Your identity will need to be verified before you arrive and so we will ask you for a photo and an image of your passport or EU national ID card.

Without this check, you will be denied entry.

To validate your identity, choose BREEZ, MWC facial recognition enabled fast-track ID validation service which also gives you touch less entry with dedicated BREEZ lanes at the venue. Or choose their standard service to have your ID and photo validated by an agent. This process will take from 24-72 hours (dependent on volumes).

Remember, all attendees must supply a valid mobile number for essential contact purposes. Please ensure that any contact details that you provide, including mobile phone number and email address, belong to the person who is attending MWC22 Barcelona.

Step 2:

Upload your health certificate to the registration system or the MWC App

The health certificate can be:

Certificates must be written in Spanish, English, French or German. If this is not possible, then it must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish carried out by an official body.

For more information on accepted health documents, please check the site here.

Step 3:

Submit a health control form for your airport QR code

Before flying, you’ll need a QR code for airport entry and departure. To obtain this code, complete a Health Control Form (FCS), found at https://www.spth.gob.es/

If you are interested in any other COVID-19 related information and measures at Barcelona Airport, have a look at the following AENA website.

Consult the Ministry of Health FAQs for more information and also, to ensure you’re aware of the latest requirements, consult travel rules and regulations in Spain, as well as your country of origin.

Step 4:

Download mandatory MWC App

This year, all attendees and exhibitors must download the MWC22 App to obtain their Digital Badge before entry to the event. This replaces previous year’s printed badges and lanyards, allowing you to navigate the event touch-free.

If you did not upload your health documents (a document certifying proof of vaccination against COVID-19, a valid certificate of recovery from COVID-19, or a negative diagnostic test, either a PCR or Rapid Antigen Test) via your Registration account, you can do so in the App.

Once this is done, and you have completed the daily health self-declaration (see Step 6), your Digital Badge will activate and allow entrance to the event.

The MWC22 App also ensures attendees can make the most of their experience by easily organizing their schedule, enjoy networking features and adhere to safety protocols.

Make sure you stay logged in, throughout the event, and that you always have sufficient charge to access the App at any time within the venue.

Step 5:

Find a testing location, if needed

If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, or hold a valid certificate of recovery from COVID-19, you will need to upload a negative diagnostic test, either a PCR or Rapid Antigen Test, in order to enter the venue.

You can book your PCR or Rapid Antigen Test online through MWC medical partner, Quirónprevención at the following links:

These testing facilities are also available for attendees that may need a test for their return journeys.

MWC attendees can call +34 901 123 456 for Quirónsalud hospitality service anytime they feel unwell. Direct access to 24/7 service, helpline offers over-the-phone support in 10 languages.

Step 6:

Read and accept a daily health declaration

Every time you enter the venue you need to make sure your MWC22 Digital Badge is active. To do this, you will need to complete the health declaration on a daily basis via the MWC22 App.

Once you’ve completed this, and as long as you have uploaded a document certifying proof of vaccination against COVID-19, a valid certificate of recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test result valid for a full day at the event, your digital badge will appear with a green bar, showing you are ready to access and enjoy MWC Barcelona!

Step 7:

Your digital badge will activate after these steps

Once activated, your Digital Badge is all about making it easier to attend the venue with added convenience and security. Your Digital Badge will help you make the most of the exhibition floor, joining conferences and getting inspiration from some of the most influential leaders from MWC industry.

Featuring touch-free entry and navigation throughout the event, your Digital Badge is just one of the many steps they’re taking to ensure that everyone is contributing to an environment that encourages safety for all.

Step 8:

Wear a FFP2 (without valve) face mask to meet MWC22 safety requirements

It is mandatory to wear a face mask that complies with all applicable event regulations.

Acceptable face masks are classified as follows:

Filtering Facepiece Respirators (FFP2) masks, without a valve, satisfying European Standard EN 149:2001 and bearing the CE mark.

Surgical masks and cloth face masks are not acceptable for this Event.

If unable to wear a face mask for valid medical reasons, you may be required to present a certified doctor’s note at any time.

Please bear in mind:

*Subject to modification at any time based on changes in the applicable regulations or Event rules. Additional information regarding approved protective face masks may be published in this section of the Event Manual in due course.
