Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music all have a lower-priced tier plan for active students who provide verification.
According to a 9to5Mac reader, Apple has quietly raised the rate for the student-tier of Apple Music in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Rates will rise from $4.99 to $5.99 in the United States and Canada, and from GBP 4.99 to GBP 5.99 in the United Kingdom.
This comes just a few weeks after Apple Music raised the price of its student plans in several other African, Asian Pacific, and Oceanic countries.
Apple’s Music Voice Plan will continue to cost $4.99 per month. This plan allows users to listen to Apple Music only by asking Siri on an Apple device.
The standard individual and family plans for Apple Music remain at $9.99 and $14.99, respectively. We wouldn’t be surprised if Spotify and YouTube Music follow suit with their student plans now that Apple has raised its student prices.
