A Toyota HiAce rip-off with an electric twist, the Joylong E6

Jiangte Joylong Automobile has been producing the Joylong A-series light commercial van since 2009. The Joylong E6 is the company’s first all-electric vehicle, and it’s already on the market in export areas like Australia. It’s an obvious replica of the Toyota HiAce van’s 5th generation, which was manufactured between 2004 and 2019.

Since the parts appear to be interchangeable, you might be wondering if Joylong and Joylong have some type of licence deal. Joylong, on the other hand, has never collaborated with Toyota, unlike other Chinese manufacturers that are building and marketing rebadged HiAce vans, some of which are currently on the market.

Toyota, on the other hand, appears to be unconcerned, having sold a large number of copies of the fifth-generation HiAce (H200) since 2004 and is now finished with it.

With a stretched wheelbase of 3,720 mm, the Joylong E6 is 5,990 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 2,320 mm tall. It comes in two sizes: 12-seater and 14-seater. Apart from the logo, the interior of the E6 is a dead ringer for the HiAce.

A reversing camera, independent front, and rear air conditioning, electrically deployable side steps, foldable rear seats, and a 6-speaker sound system are all standard features. Front airbags, ABS, EBD, and disc brakes are among the safety features available.
