YouTube Music's Hum-to-Search - Find songs quickly now

Remember Google Assistant’s hum-to-search? It helped find songs by humming. Now, YouTube Music has this feature.

YouTube Music on Android will soon add this. Users can hum, sing, or whistle to search. It’s like asking a friend, “What’s that song?” and then humming a bit. You can also play a recording.

The new button appears in the search section. It has a waveform icon beside the microphone icon. Tap the search button to see it. Press the waveform button to start. The app listens to your song replication immediately.

Tests by users showed it works well. It finds songs quickly and accurately. This makes it a great Shazam replacement. It is faster than Google Assistant’s hum-to-search.

The feature works with whistling and singing too. It is not perfect. Sometimes, it guesses wrong. This happens with tricky songs. But it mostly gets songs right with a few seconds of humming.

Reports say iOS users have seen this feature too. Widespread availability is still pending.
