With the new Galaxy XCover6 Pro, Samsung has unveiled the first rugged smartphone with 5G compatibility.
GSM Arena reports that the primary display of the XCover6 Pro is a 6.6-inch PLS LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The XCover6 Pro’s display’s enhanced touch sensitivity makes it simple to use when wearing gloves and with wet hands.
Victus+, the newest iteration of Corning Gorilla Glass, also protects the display.
True to XCover form, the phone complies with MIL-810H and is IP68 water and dust-resistant.
The phone is reportedly 168.8×79.9×9.9mm in size and weighs a hefty 235 grams.
Additionally, Wi-Fi 6E and 5G are supported with the XCover6 Pro. It boasts a Snapdragon 778G processor, 6GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot for an extra 128GB of storage.
The gadget has a 4,050 mAh battery installed, which is concealed beneath a plastic back that can be taken off for quick battery swaps.
The phone can be charged up to 15W with the provided connector and takes customized accessories that connect using the two pogo pins on the bottom.
The phone does not come with a charger or any other accessories than a USB-C cord.
Speaking of distinctive features, XCover6 Pro also has a customizable push-to-talk button.
In the camera section, a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture stands next to an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
A waterdrop notch on the front conceals a 13MP selfie camera. In order to cover the software front, OneUI is layered on top of Android 12.
Additional noteworthy features include compatibility with Samsung DeX, a headphone jack, and a speaker boost option.
Samsung has still not provided any information about prices. The phone will be available in known areas in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East beginning in July.
