World's fastest Lithium batteries created by Moroccan Rachid Yazami

Rachid Yazami, a Moroccan scientist and engineer, has created lithium batteries that can recharge an electric vehicle in under 10 minutes, shattering the previous record of 20 minutes.

Yazami said, in a speech at the Digital Energy Forum in Casablanca, that his new batteries recharge three times quicker than Tesla’s, which took one hour to fully recharge an electric car—a record that had previously been unachievable. The creation of sustainable energy storage will be the first step in the future development of the energy sector, according to a Moroccan expert.

He described how lithium batteries provide the energy for electric vehicle transportation and noted that “anything electric” will be the focus in the future. Yazami emphasised the urgent need for Morocco to concentrate on the generation of clean energy and consider how it is stored and utilized in electric automobiles as the worldwide sales of EVs are increasing.

Yazami’s remarks come after many indications from Morocco that it is ready to support the green transformation. Morocco has declared intentions to enhance its manufacture of electric automobiles over the next two years as the switch to electric vehicle production becomes more and more necessary.
