With OS update, Xiaomi phones will become even faster and safer

The MIUI OS from Xiaomi has been around for more than 12 years. Today, it boasts a global user base of over 564 million monthly active users.

The official release of the Xiaomi 13 series coincided with the arrival of MIUI 14, the most recent software upgrade from the company based on Android 13.

Here are the main features of the brand-new MIUI 14.

This MIUI version, according to Xiaomi, is the most effective and streamlined to date. The MIUI 14 development team unveiled an updated system architecture that now includes CPU, GPU, and memory resource scheduling at the Android Kernel level. This will make it possible to use less memory and have smaller system firmware packages.

On the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi says that MIUI 14 is 60% faster than its predecessor.

Automatic app compression and the option to turn off persistent alerts are two additional cool optimizations. Up to eight system apps can now be removed, which is a significant improvement over earlier MIUI versions.

The new widget options in MIUI 14 come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and the folders can be altered with large and small icons.

One of the most unexpected is the new MUI 14 widgets for flowers and pets, which feature animated Tamagotchi-style characters that may reside on your home screen.

In MIUI 14, duplicate files are combined, text recognition is better, and text can be extracted from gallery images. End-to-end encryption and local processing of user data have increased privacy.

The update also adds a new toggle that lets you drag and drop Xiaomi accessories, such wireless earbuds, to different devices. Due to this capability, earbuds won’t need to be paired with other devices.

With the new family account feature, you can now share images and cloud subscriptions with up to nine individuals. Users can also share the health-tracking information from their smartwatch with their family members so they can keep track of their health.

The ability to utilise Xiaomi tablets with laptops for screen mirroring, keyboard and mouse switching, and extended display capabilities is an added bonus.

On December 14, the first devices to receive MIUI 14 are the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The following devices are included in Xiaomi’s official upgrade schedule in China. Pakistan may have to wait a little longer for these update. Here are some models below:
