WhatsApp users on Android and iOS will be able to hide their 'Last Seen' status from certain contacts

Since last year, WhatsApp has been working on additional privacy features. The option to conceal your profile photo, last seen, and About information from particular people has been in development for a while, but it is now available to all iPhone and Android users worldwide.

WhatsApp’s official social media pages made the announcement.

Previously, WhatsApp allowed you to conceal from everyone, your contacts just, your contacts except a select individuals, or no one. This was also an option for keeping your status private. However, the new feature allows you to conceal your last seen, profile photo, and About information from only certain persons in your contact list.

It’s worth noting that, similar to read receipts, you won’t be able to see other people’s last seen if you conceal your own (blue ticks). In group conversations, though, the latter still functions.

On iPhones and Androids, the new privacy setting may be found in the Settings > Account > Privacy menu.

Aside from that, with the latest version, WhatsApp has included the option to silence certain persons in a group call. You’ll also be able to send direct messages to individual folks over the call.
