WhatsApp users appear to be getting what many of us have been clamoring for, as beta testers have gotten a sneak glimpse at an iPadOS app version of the instant messaging program.

Hopefully, this signifies that an iPad app version of instant messaging service will be available shortly.

Screenshots from WABetaInfo reveal that the app looks exactly like it does on your phone, only bigger.

How WhatsApp Looks and To Use on iPads

You appear to utilize the same QR-scanning feature to link your account to the app, with the same list of contacts on the left and your current chat on the right as you do when using WhatsApp Web.

Given how popular the instant messaging service app is and the fact that we already have Facebook Messenger and Instagram on the iPad, one has to question why the iPadOS app has taken so long to develop.

Why Meta Didn’t Develop iPads Apps?

According to The Verge, Meta has never been interested in developing iPad apps, particularly those that are optimized for iPads rather than simply being moved over.

Even the Instagram app for the iPad is a zoomed-out, scarcely functional version of Instagram for smartphones.

We still don’t have a Threads app for iPads, and if Meta is only available on iPadOS currently, who knows when Threads will be on our Apple tablets?

With WhatsApp being one of the most popular apps on the planet, the thought of an iPad version is fairly interesting, and if it makes it through the test stage, it will undoubtedly be a great hit for Meta.

Furthermore, as Meta continues to encourage users to participate with WhatsApp Business and offers WhatsApp channels, it would be irresponsible not to port its software to additional devices.
