WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging app, has released two new updates, Silence Unknown Callers and Privacy Checkup, which are now available for Android and ISO users.

WhatsApp New Features

Silence Unknown Callers, a recently announced feature, is intended to give you more privacy and control over your incoming calls. For added security, it helps to automatically screen out spam, scams, and calls from unknown people.

These calls will not ring on your phone, but they will appear in your Call list in case it is someone important. To enable this feature, go to your WhatsApp account’s privacy settings and select “Silence Unknown Callers” in the calls section.

To help spread the word, the second feature, Privacy Checkup, is introduced to ensure that users are aware of the application’s security options.

This feature will walk users through important privacy settings to help them choose the appropriate level of protection.

Simply by selecting ‘Start checkup’ in the Privacy settings, the consumer will be guided through multiple privacy layers that strengthen the security of WhatsApp messages, calls, and personal information.

To emphasize the importance of the issue, the messenger application introduced novel methods of communicating the message on a global scale.

Starting this week, WhatsApp is actively promoting the idea of securely connecting with friends and family via private messaging, creating a safe haven for them to freely express themselves.
