The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) of Rawalpindi has introduced a new smartphone app to help citizens make online payments.
This app allows you to pay bills and file official complaints directly from your phone.
On Monday, the app was launched at the WASA Rawalpindi headquarters. WASA Vice-Chairman Haroon Kamal Hashmi would not elaborate on the app but did confirm, “The citizens will be able to pay their bills and register complaints through the mobile application from home.”
He also stated that WASA has taken a significant step to assist residents, and that innovation is making its way to the department in accordance with worldwide norms.
During the inauguration, a huge number of WASA officers and other participants were present. He stated that the app is available for download from the Google Play Store.
He also stated that six new complaint centres have been established in various places to assist residents in resolving problems from the comfort of their own homes.
The Vice-Chairman praised WASA’s IT team for creating the app without spending a single rupee from the national treasury.
He stated that strong actions were taken to improve WASA’s performance over the last three years, and that the aim of record revenue recovery was met without raising tariffs.
