If Pakistan’s government asked for help, the US has stated that it would be “positively” willing to assist with drone attacks to combat violent non-state actors (VNSAs).
Ned Price, a spokesperson for the US State Department, said during a news conference that the US is eager to cooperate with Pakistan to address concerns about terrorism, especially in light of the recent uptick in terrorist activity in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Ned Price responded to a question on the resumption of drone attacks in Pakistan by saying that the US is aware of the dire circumstances there and that it has asked the attackers to cease all acts of violence.
He added that Pakistan’s government is the US’s ally overall, particularly when it comes to challenges presented by terrorist organizations near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
In light of the aforementioned, he stated, without specifically addressing drone attacks, that we are prepared to support Pakistan in both the present and the future, but that we will have to point you to Pakistani officials for additional comments.
Ned Price responded to a different query by stating that Pakistan is a crucial security ally of the US and that we are in frequent contact with our Pakistani counterparts.
He added that it is preferable to leave the specifics of the relationship between Pakistan and the US within diplomatic channels.
