Ufone 5G awards keep coming. Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), the company behind the Ufone 5G brand, has won two top prizes at the Dragons of Asia Awards 2026. The company took home a Gold Dragon and a Black Dragon, becoming the only telecom brand from Pakistan to win a Gold at these well-known regional marketing awards.
What Are the Dragons of Asia Awards?
The Dragons of Asia is a respected awards programme held across the Asia-Pacific region. It gives out prizes to marketing campaigns that show smart strategy, strong creative ideas, and real results. Winning a Gold Dragon is a big deal in the marketing world, especially for a brand competing against entries from across Asia.
Ufone 5G Awards: Two Wins, Two Campaigns
Ufone won in two separate categories at the 2026 ceremony. Both wins came from campaigns that used cricket stars and social media to grab public attention in a clever way.
Gold Dragon: The Super 5 Campaign
The Gold Dragon went to Ufone’s “Super 5” campaign in the “Best in Media” category. The Super 5 package lets customers share data, calls, and SMS with up to four friends or family members. It is basically a group plan for staying connected.
Ufone launched this campaign in February 2026. It featured comedian and TV host Tabish Hashmi along with four former Pakistan cricket stars: Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, and Saeed Ajmal. All four were part of Pakistan’s famous ICC T20 World Cup winning team in 2009.
The campaign started with teaser videos on social media. The cricketers hinted at a mysterious “selection”, which made fans think they might be making a comeback in cricket. The big reveal showed something funny instead: the players were actually competing to get a spot in Tabish Hashmi’s personal Super 5 group. The ad ran on Pakistani TV channels and digital platforms, and got millions of views online.
Black Dragon: Babar Azam’s Lost Phone
The Black Dragon came in the “Marketing Discipline” category for the “Babar Azam’s Lost Phone” campaign. This one promoted Ufone’s Weekly Grand Offer and was launched in February 2025.
The campaign kicked off when cricketer Babar Azam posted on social media saying he had lost his phone and all his contacts. Fans were confused and curious. The reveal showed it was a Ufone campaign, with Babar searching for his phone alongside fans before showing off the weekly deal. The campaign got over 10 million views and even caught attention outside Pakistan.
What Ufone’s Leadership Said
Syed Atif Raza, Chief Commercial Officer at PTML, spoke about the wins. “We wanted our campaigns to be something people would talk about, not just watch,” he said. “Our approach is to understand consumer behavior, challenge conventional thinking and back ideas that stand out. Having this work recognized at the Dragons of Asia is a proud moment for us, and it is encouraging to see locally developed ideas earn international recognition.”
He also gave credit to the teams behind the work. “I commend the Brands and Media teams, and our agency partners, whose strategic thinking, creativity and execution brought these ideas to life,” he added.
Why These Ufone 5G Awards Matter for Pakistan’s Tech Industry
These Ufone 5G awards show that Pakistani telecom brands can compete at a regional level when it comes to creative marketing. Both campaigns worked because they used local culture, humour, and famous faces to turn a simple mobile offer into a story people wanted to share.
The fact that Ufone was the only Pakistani telecom brand to win a Gold Dragon at this event makes the achievement even more meaningful. It puts Pakistani digital marketing on the map in a bigger regional conversation about smart, results-driven campaigns.
For everyday users, it also highlights Ufone’s key products: the Super 5 group sharing package and the Weekly Grand Offer, both of which are designed to give more value to mobile customers across Pakistan.
