The United Arab Emirates has established a new institution to manage commercial gambling and a national lottery.
General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority
The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) is in charge of creating regulations and standards for the country’s lottery and gaming industries.
Kevin Mullally, a well-known figure in global gaming laws with over three decades of experience, will take over as CEO.
UAE’s Gaming Industry
Mullally highlighted his eagerness to work with his skilled team to establish a sound regulatory basis for the UAE’s gaming industry after being appointed to this position.
The team consists of world-class international professionals who understand gaming rules. Jim Murren, an industry veteran, serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mullally’s broad experience, he believes, will be a game changer in setting acceptable rules in the UAE.
The GCGRA’s mission is to foster a safe and responsible gaming environment. It entails ensuring that everyone follows stringent rules and upholds the highest standards.
Furthermore, the authority will handle licencing across the country and investigate innovative ways for commercial gaming to boost the economy.
