Truck carrying peanuts worth Rs. 4 million was stolen: Rawalpindi

Armed robbers took from the crew of the trailer a cargo of peanuts, cash, and cellphones. The event happened under the control of the Chakri Police Station.

Rafiullah, the complaint, identified himself to police as a carrier of goods. He was taking his team to Peshawar on a 22-wheel trailer that cost Rs. 1.9 million and was hauling Rs. 4 million worth of peanuts.

The complainant went on to say that when they got to Mouza Dhadhumber, three armed suspects stopped them, tied up the crew, and stole their three cell phones, Rs. 300,000 in cash, and the loaded truck while yelling threats at them.

On the basis of the complainant’s evidence, the police filed the case. According to a police spokeswoman, the complainant has been suspecting a former crew member of being involved while there is still more inquiry going on.

The police spokesperson also disclosed that the burglars abandoned the empty truck in a distant area and made off with 4 million rupees’ worth of peanuts.

In a related bizarre incident that occurred earlier this year, thieves took 240 outfits for men and women from a tailor business inside the boundaries of the Aabapara Police Station.
