This month, the Punjab administration suggested giving female instructors in the province’s public schools access to electric scooters. According to a media source, the administration recommended it as a pilot project for the upcoming fiscal year.
A recent news story has revealed a few further specifics about that endeavor. Here are the specifics:
160,000 female teachers in Punjab will receive scooters from the government.
In August 2022, the government will begin accepting applications for scooters.
Only instructors employed on a permanent basis in government schools would receive scooters.
The program is open to teachers making less than Rs. 50,000 annually.
By December 2022, the government will have distributed the scooters after evaluating the applications in November.
Unfortunately, the candidates won’t just get free scooters from the government. The most recent report is that it will charge applicants monthly installments of up to Rs. 3,000.
Unknown is whether the instalment will be applied to the whole or partial cost of the scooter. Upon the official debut of this program, the government will provide further information.
