In order to provide the greatest health care facilities for the residents of Gwadar, the government has extended the 50-bed Pak-China Friendship Hospital Gwadar to a 150-bed state-of-the-art medical center. From January next year, the authority would provide residents of the port city of Gwadar with a state-of-the-art free medical facility, he added.

The responsible quarters were putting up every possible effort to complete the infrastructure and development projects on schedule. According to the GDA, the authority has accelerated the development of Gwadar’s old town renovation plan in order to deliver the greatest infrastructure and amenities to the port city’s residents.

He said that a project of Rs 3.3 billion for Gwadar’s old town reconstruction was in full gear with the cooperation of the federal government to bring the city up to date and alleviate the sense of deprivation among the locals.

Under the Gwadar development plan, the federal government would finance 67 percent of the overall expenditure, while the Balochistan government would cover the rest. The plan calls for the completion of water drainage, supply, and distribution utility projects, as well as the provision of safe drinking water to port residents.

According to the official, Gwadar’s water supply would be restored in three months since a desalination plant is being built to meet the city’s needs. According to him, the authorities have urged that all development and other public welfare initiatives in the city comply with the Gwadar Master Plan.

The involved departments were working feverishly to complete infrastructure and development projects in Gwadar on schedule. He stated that there were numerous investment possibilities in every area and that a thorough plan will be implemented to attract investors.
