Tesla Inc. was sued by a California state agency for failing to address racial harassment against black workers at one of its assembly factories. Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, is allegedly enabling flagrant discrimination against black employees, according to the legal filing.
The personnel are also subjected to disparaging remarks and professional injustice, according to the report. Tesla employees have filed hundreds of identical complaints with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), according to the DFEH. The company has yet to respond to this news.
Tesla’s popularity has drew it into the spotlight, resulting in a number of high-profile disputes. An employee at Tesla’s Fremont plant, Owen Diaz, claims that his objections are being ignored on purpose.
Tesla has been chastised by authorities and campaigners for a variety of reasons, including racial discrimination and gender harassment. According to reports, the manufacturer is already facing at least four harassment lawsuits, with the victim of harassment receiving a $137 million jury verdict.
The firm responded to the prior charges by saying, “Tesla strongly opposes all forms of discrimination and harassment and has a dedicated Employee Relations team that responds to and investigates all complaints.”
As the number of complaints grows, the automaker is facing a barrage of criticism from social activists, investors, and customers.
