Ehsan Saya, managing director of Daraz Pakistan, told the local newspaper agency that he thought one of the biggest equalizers in today’s online prospects was e-commerce.
“You do not need substantial capital to sell online. You need access to the internet, a phone or computer, and lots of grit, integrity, drive, and hustle. Online jobs and businesses have emerged as a viable alternative for individuals during these challenging times.
Pakistan has a large pool of young, educated, and tech-savvy individuals who are now utilizing their skills and expertise to work remotely as freelancers or run their own online businesses. This allows them the freedom to earn a livelihood from the comfort of their homes, within schedules that suit their lifestyles,” he said.
Technology Helps to Make People Millionaire
Approximately 100,000 vendors from all over Pakistan are currently registered on the platform. According to him, sellers’ average income has climbed by 70% over the past three years. Numerous causes, such as the growing use of cellphones and the internet, might be blamed for this.
The CEO of Si Global added, “And what’s even more astounding is that this wealth is being generated from some of the poorest sections of the country.” For instance, Hyderabad has experienced a rise in the number of millionaires, many of whom come from conventional occupations like farming and keeping livestock.
Similar to this, Lahore has also had a rise in new business owners, many of whom are self-made billionaires, according to him.
The younger generation is making data-driven decisions to boost sales because they recognize the advantages of online sales, such as the capacity to contact customers in any location in Pakistan.
The biggest advantage of working online is how simple it is to upskill or learn new skills thanks to the wealth of Internet resources.
Daraz University was established in 2018 to offer entrepreneurial education throughout Pakistan, recognizing the potential of the country’s young population.
The online university provides courses that instruct merchants on each stage of business setup. Approximately 5,000 salespeople receive education each month.
The development of tech-savvy millionaires who come from underprivileged areas of society has the potential to change the political landscape of the nation.
Their involvement in politics could result in positive change and free the nation from the control of a small elite class once they are relieved of the pressure of meeting fundamental requirements, such as putting food on the table.
“For starters, it’s important to understand that technology is not a panacea. Sure, it can help with things like communication and transportation. But it’s also important to remember that technology doesn’t always work the way we want it to,” said Ahmed.
