Suzuki is best known for its unique, small, and lightweight economy cars like the Swift, Cultus, Wagon R, and Jimny, as well as its lightning-fast superbikes like the legendary Hayabusa.
According to a recent announcement, the company has combined its specialties to create a sharp-looking, lightweight, and ultra-powerful supercar killer powered by a hybridized Hayabusa powertrain.
The Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) concept car is Suzuki’s take on modern supercars like the Mercedes-McLaren SLR Stirling Moss, Ferrari Monza SP, and BAC Mono. VGT is a stunning vehicle that expertly combines modern speedster styling cues with Suzuki Swift styling cues.
The Hayabusa’s 1.34-liter four-cylinder petrol engine produces 190 horsepower (hp) and 150 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque in the Suzuki VGT.
Suzuki has coupled the powertrain with three electric motors to produce a combined hybrid power output of 430 hp and 610 Nm of torque, making it a true supercar killer.
Suzuki VGT’s performance stats appear tiny in a world of hypercars with 2000+ horsepower. However, given the car’s lightweight of 970 kilograms, its power is more than adequate.
Regrettably, if it all sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The concept for the upcoming video game Gran Turismo 7, dubbed Vision Gran Turismo, has been released by Suzuki.
For the time being, the corporation has no plans to make a real-life counterpart of VGT. Its forte is manufacturing modest economic vehicles and frenzied sport bikes, which it will likely keep to unless it receives unexpected demand and desire based on its virtual persona.
