During a combined operation by the Customs and Matyari police on National Highway, at least 14,000 liters of oil and gasoline “disappeared.”
Police sources told 24 News that 36,000 liters of Iranian oil and gasoline had been seized by Customs and the Matyari police. The petroleum products arrived in Daulatpur from Karachi.
The article noted that the container was traveling from Iran with 50,000 liters of oil and gas and used an official document to support this claim. However, the confiscated package contained 14,000 liters of Iranian oil worth Rs. 3 million.
Surveillance Upgrade in Karachi
The police system in Karachi has been connected to 20,000 private CCTV cameras. All police stations have also been modernized with e-tagging capability.
Ghulam Nabi Memon, the Inspector General (IG) of the Sindh Police, convened a high-level conference to examine the law and order situation in the city and the department’s overall efforts to reduce crime.
Javed Akhtar Odho, the Additional Inspector General (AIG), disclosed intentions to upgrade the department’s technology in Karachi. According to him, these technologies would be crucial in reducing numerous street crimes.
