The Bengal Tigers got off to a fantastic start in the run chase, but after Mehidy Hasan Miraz was dismissed for 28 runs by Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka, they began losing wickets at regular intervals.

Following the wicket of Litton Das, experienced batsman Mashfiqur Rahim and Hridoy put on a 72-run stand to offer their side a much-needed break, but the latter was shortly dismissed for 29 runs by Shanaka.

Hridoy top-scored for his team with 82 runs off 97 balls, but his efforts were in vain as Maheesh Theekshana provided his side a breath of fresh air by capturing Towhid’s wicket.

Bangladesh were bowled out in 48.1 overs for 236 runs.

Sri Lanka’s Theekshana and Shanaka both claimed three wickets, while Matheesha Pathirana took two.

Samarawickrama led the way for the hosts, scoring 93 runs in 72 balls, including eight fours and two sixes.

Sri Lanka is yet to lose a match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.
