Speed of CPEC projects to be maintained by caretaker Govt.

A large conference was held today to assess the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects under the direction of Muhammad Sami Saeed, the caretaker Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.

Dr. Nadeem Javaid, Chief Economist and Head of CPEC, gave a comprehensive summary of the developments related to various CPEC projects. Secretary Planning Syed Zafar Ali Shah, together with representatives from the CPEC Secretariat and the Ministry of Planning, met to discuss the project.

CPEC will progress

The minister stressed that the caretaker administration will not slow down vital infrastructure projects. The minister pledged strongly to maintain the momentum of ongoing CPEC Projects in this regard. He reiterated that the caretaker government has been given the responsibility to maintain the acceleration of all development programmes, with CPEC being given the highest priority.

He emphasised the importance of keeping up the current rate of progress and asked all relevant agencies to coordinate their efforts. He emphasised how much CPEC will boost development in Pakistan and the surrounding area.

To realise the project’s full potential and make the most of available resources, he stressed the importance of incorporating appropriate supervision mechanisms into the CPEC implementation process from the start.
