South Africa defeated Pakistan by one wicket in a World Cup 2023 thriller at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam and middle-order batter Saud Shakeel scored 50 and 52 runs, respectively. Except for Shadab, who contributed 43 points on 36 balls, none of the other batters were able to score much.
Tabriz Shamsi of South Africa took four wickets after conceding 60 runs.
In the ongoing match against South Africa, Pakistan has used a concussion substitute in place of Shadab Khan.
While fielding, Shadab collided with his head. He briefly took the field, but the Pakistan team medical panel decided to replace him after a thorough examination. The match referee granted the substitute request.
