Sony has introduced the official portable remote-play gadget called the PlayStation Portal, following the first disclosure of their handheld console codenamed Project Q in March.

The Portal makes advantage of the PS Remote Play feature, allowing you to play your PS5 games from any location with an internet connection.
The PS Portal requires at least a 5Mbps connection to function effectively, while Sony recommends a minimum of 15Mbps for best performance.
It’s vital to note that this device can only play supported games that have been installed on your PS5 console.

Furthermore,Sony has stated that the gadget will not be compatible with PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming, nor will it be able to run any other games or media.
The device sports an 8-inch LCD with 1080P resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz, which mirrors the controller configuration of the PS5 DualSense.

In addition, the handheld gadget has a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and top-mounted speakers. At the present, the full specifications are unknown.
Surprisingly, the PS Portal does not have Bluetooth connectivity. Instead, it only supports Wi-Fi and PlayStation Link,
Sony’s innovative wireless communication technology. The benefits of this standard include low-latency lossless audio and easy switching between supported devices.
Notably, this technology will be used in Sony’s upcoming Pulse Explore wireless earbuds ($200/€220/£200) and Pulse Elite headset ($150/€150/£120), both of which are planned to be released later this year.
