The Sindh government recently unveiled a new program that will offer interest-free loans for the setup of solar systems in order to improve middle-class energy access.
Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced. The development during a media briefing at his residence.
Over 200,000 Households
Shah emphasised the government’s commitment to addressing regional issues with strategic budget allocations.
He also mentioned the ongoing issue of electricity shortages, which affect over 200,000 households in Sindh.
To address this, the government intends to electrify 500,000 households each year. Providing solar systems capable of powering necessities such as a fan and three bulbs to the cheapest homes.
Individuals who want to install solar systems on their own. Can take advantage of interest-free loans through the initiative, with the Sindh government encasing the interest.
Two Grid Stations
Shah also announced plans to build two grid stations in each district of Sindh to improve the region’s energy infrastructure.
This initiative aims to improve energy access and promote environmentally friendly energy solutions throughout the province.
