The Sindh government has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy aimed at eliminating cheating during board examinations. The move is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency, fairness, and credibility in the province’s education system.
Strong Measures to Ensure Fair Examinations
Under the new policy, examination authorities have been instructed to closely monitor all board exams across Sindh. Strict vigilance will be maintained at examination centers to prevent any use of unfair means by students.
Penalties for Students Involved in Cheating
According to the policy, students found using unfair means may face serious consequences, including cancellation of papers and disqualification from the current examination session. In more severe cases, they could also face restrictions from appearing in future exams.
Lifetime Ban in Serious Cases
The government has also indicated that in extreme or repeated cases of cheating, a lifetime ban from future board examinations may be considered. However, this punishment will depend on the nature and severity of the violation and will not be applied automatically in every case.
Action Against Examination Staff
The policy is not limited to students only. Examination staff, invigilators, or any officials found involved in facilitating cheating will also face strict disciplinary action. This is intended to ensure accountability at every level of the examination process.
Focus on Merit and Educational Integrity
Officials stated that the objective of this policy is to promote merit-based education and discourage malpractice. The government believes that strict enforcement will help students focus on genuine learning and improve the overall standard of education in Sindh.
