Sindh’s College Education Department (CED) has mandated a minimum of 70% attendance for students taking annual exams.
According to details, the CED has issued a notification directing government colleges to ensure students meet the minimum compulsory attendance percentage.
Teachers and principals of public sector colleges have been asked to take steps to encourage students to attend classes on a regular basis. Failure to meet the attendance requirement means missing the annual exams.
Meanwhile, students have expressed conflicted feelings about this decision. Some have called it a step in the right direction, while others believe it will be counterproductive.
The Sindh government announced the matriculation and intermediate examination schedules for the academic year 2022-23 last month.
Matric exams will begin across the province on May 8, 2023, and inter exams will begin on May 22, 2023.
The question papers will include MCQs worth 20 points, short questions worth 40 points, and long questions worth 40 points.
