Launch of "Rawalpindi Express," a biopic of Shoaib Akhtar is publicized

Shoaib Akhtar, the quickest bowler in the world and a former Pakistani cricketer, has revealed that “Rawalpindi Express,” his biopic, is currently under production.

“Beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch of my story, my life, my Biopic, RAWALPINDI EXPRESS – Running against the odds. You’re in for a ride you’ve never taken before. First foreign film about a Pakistani Sportsman. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar,” wrote Akhtar on Twitter.

Under the auspices of Qfilmproductions, Faraz Qaiser is directing the movie. On his social media accounts, Faraz added his thoughts on this major announcement.

“An idea that came in 2016, has finally come to life. The poster for my first feature film is now out!” wrote the director on his Instagram story.

The former pacer for the Pakistan cricket team competed in 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20 Internationals, taking 178, 247, and 19 wickets in each match.

However, his speed frightened batters more than the quantity of wickets he took.

He currently owns the cricket record for the fastest recorded delivery at 161 kmph (vs New Zealand, 2002).

The movie is scheduled to premiere on November 16, 2023. There are still more details to come.
