In a statement issued on Friday, the Saudi embassy announced a donation of 100 tonnes of dates to Pakistan ahead of Ramadan.
“In a gesture of goodwill, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is delighted to offer 100 tonnes of dates to its esteemed brethren in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, following the recommendation of the esteemed leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” according to a statement issued by the Saudi embassy.
Ambassador Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki and Abdullah Al-Baqami, Director of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), handed over the consignment to the Pakistani government during a ceremony at the Saudi Embassy.
According to the statement, the generous donation is meant for distribution to the Pakistani community during the holy month of Ramadan.
This magnificent act illustrates the two countries’ long-standing friendship and brotherhood, displaying the compassion and unity that both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan value.
