Saudi Arabia and Zain KSA have collaborated to build the world’s first zero-carbon 5G network. In line with Saudi Vision 2030, this trailblazing project prioritises sustainable technology and environmental preservation.
First zero-carbon 5G network
The network will be 10,810 square miles in size and will provide high-speed 5G connectivity. Its energy is entirely derived from renewable sources, including over 760,000 solar panels.
The initiative has three main goals: protecting the environment, reducing emissions through renewable energy, and addressing visual disruption.
Cutting-edge 3D printing tech
Furthermore, the network’s towers, which were built using cutting-edge 3D printing technology, blend inconspicuously with the picturesque landscape of The Red Sea.
Engineer Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, CEO of Zain KSA, also emphasised the importance of local innovation in tower construction.
This endeavor bolsters the company’s path toward becoming a provider of sustainable technology, propelling both human advancement and environmental preservation.
