Saudi Arabia has placed restrictions on four items that pilgrims are not permitted to bring on their Hajj journey.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued strict instructions for Rahman’s guests (pilgrims) regarding the prohibition on carrying certain items during air travel.
Saudi Arabia prohibited these following items:
- Bags made of plastic:
Pilgrims should not bring their belongings in plastic bags because flying with full plastic bags is prohibited. Pilgrims who break this rule may encounter difficulties at the airport.
- Open liquids and bottled water:
Pilgrims must not bring water or any other liquid that could spill during flight. Airport personnel may remove water bottles or other similar items from their luggage.
- Items that are unpackaged or poorly packaged:
Any items or substances that are not properly packaged or that may spill or fall out of their packaging are not permitted on the plane.
- Clothing-wrapped items:
Pilgrims should not bring any bags or items wrapped in clothing, nor should they wrap their belongings in clothing. Such items are not permitted on board the plane.
According to reports, Saudi Arabia is in the final stages of planning for the upcoming Hajj season.
Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, has launched the second phase of preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, involving various Ministry departments and Rahman’s guests.
He stressed that the Ministry will conduct another hypothetical exercise before the start of the Hajj season to improve operational capabilities across the board.
These simulated experiences will provide valuable insights into the operational system as well as the pilgrims’ needs and challenges, going beyond transportation and catering to include civil defense, catering, and incident management.
