Out of those caught, 1,737 tried to enter the country illegally. Many were from Yemen and Ethiopia. Forty-two percent were from Yemen. Fifty-seven percent were from Ethiopia. The rest were from other countries.
They also arrested 49 people trying to leave illegally. Sixteen people helped by giving rides, places to stay, or jobs.
Right now, 19,841 foreigners have legal problems. Most are men, and some are women. Authorities told 9,438 people to contact their embassies for travel papers. About 3,833 are planning their travel. Eleven thousand six hundred fifty-five have already gone home.
The Ministry of Interior said helping illegal people is very serious. People who help could go to prison for 15 years. They might also pay big fines. Authorities might take any cars or things used for this.
The ministry reminded everyone to follow the rules. They want people to report problems. Call 911 for Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern areas. Use 999 or 996 for other places.
During Hajj, the government reminded everyone to get permits. Some pilgrims who died did not have permits.
