Sarfaraz Ahmed returns home with a warm welcome after series

Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter, was greeted warmly upon his return home following the two-match Test series against New Zealand.

Sarfaraz Ahmed arrived home in Buffer Zone, Karachi, after the second Test ended in a draw, and was greeted warmly by his family, fans, and relatives.

The young people chanted slogans and clapped in honour of Sarfaraz Ahmed, who also waved his hands in response to his fans.

The Karachi-born cricketer was named series player for his outstanding performance in the Test series, in which he scored three fifties and a match-saving century.

The 35-year-old scored 335 runs in four innings, averaging 83.75 runs per inning, with the highest score of 118 runs saving the second Test for the team.

With this performance, the right-handed batter has now established the highest average among Pakistani wicket-keeper batters in Test cricket history.

The Karachi-born batter surpassed Kamran Akmal on the list of Pakistani wicket-keeper batters with the most runs in red-ball cricket in the first Test.

In fifty Tests, the right-handed batter has now scored 2,992 Test runs at an average of 38.85, including four centuries and 21 half-centuries.

It’s worth noting that the Champions Trophy-winning captain returned to the playing XI in 2019 after a nearly four-year absence.
