Salaries and pensions for June will be paid in advance in Punjab

The Punjab government has agreed to distribute the wages and pensions of active and retired provincial government employees in advance for the month of June.

According to reports, the provincial Finance Ministry has decided to help employees and retirees because there will be a bank holiday on July 1st, Friday, to mark the beginning of the new fiscal year.

After the bank holiday, there will be two weekly holidays: Saturday and Sunday. As a result, the Finance Ministry has instructed all District Accounts Officers to guarantee that the current instruction be followed.

The Accountant General has also been asked by the Finance Ministry to guarantee that employees and retirees get their pay and pensions on June 30.

The Punjab administration, on the other hand, will propose the provincial budget for FY 2022-23 on June 13th. Baligh-ur-Rehman, the governor of Punjab, has already convened the provincial legislature.

Employees of the provincial government, both active and retired, are expecting for raises in their salaries and pensions, since they are struggling to make ends meet.

The first of July will be a bank holiday, marking the start of the new fiscal year, while the second and third of July will be Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government’s budget for the coming fiscal year will be presented on Monday, June 13, during the province assembly’s session.
