Ramiz Raja releases budget for the PCB of Rs.15 billion

Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has said that the Board of Governors (BoG) has authorized a budget of Rs. 15 billion for the PCB for the forthcoming fiscal year.

In a news conference today, Ramiz provided the budget’s specifics. He said that the country’s cricketing activities will receive almost 78% of the budgetary allotment. The majority of these monies will go into modernizing the stadiums and enhancing the nation’s infrastructure.

The 59-year-old said that because Pakistan is set to host both the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 and the Asia Cup in 2019, improving the nation’s stadiums is the PCB’s top priority. According to Ramiz, the PCB administration has already refurbished the seats in two national stadiums and plans to replace the lighting at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The former national team captain said that the PCB must offer the best facilities to the national team players and that investing in them and the future of Pakistan cricket should be their major objective. In addition, he disclosed an increase in match costs for national players as well as fees for those who are not participating.

Ramiz noted that the PCB is in a good financial situation and that their major goals are to advance the game’s national promotion and to give aspiring young cricketers a stage on which to succeed.
