Quinton de Kock, the in-form wicketkeeper batter, etched his name into the record books on Wednesday with a sensational century against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2023.

De Kock, who scored his fourth century in the ongoing mega event, now has the most runs (545) scored by a wicketkeeper batter in a single World Cup edition.
He scored his 21st ODI century in 103 balls and then went on to score 114 in 116 deliveries, with 10 boundaries and three sixes.
The left-handed batter surpassed legendary Sri Lankan batter Kumar Sangakkara’s 2015 World Cup tally of 543 runs.

Furthermore, Quinton de Kock has joined Sangakkara in the list of most hundreds in a World Cup, trailing only India’s Rohit Sharma, who scored five in the previous edition, with four centuries in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Earlier in the tournament, de Kock scored 100 against Sri Lanka, 109 against Australia, and 174 against Bangladesh.
Returning to the game, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen’s centuries propelled South Africa to a massive 357/4 victory over New Zealand.
The Proteas had a contrasting start to their innings, as their captain Temba Bavuma (24) perished for a lowly 38 runs.
Following an early blow, van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock combined to dominate New Zealand bowlers, adding 200 runs for the second wicket before veteran pacer Tim Southee finally got rid of the latter.
Meanwhile, van der Dussen held his ground and batted until the 48th over before succumbing to Southee.
The right-handed batter led South Africa in scoring with 133 runs in 118 balls, smashing nine boundaries and five sixes.
Aside from them, hard-hitting batter David Miller hit a quickfire half-century to help South Africa’s total.
