According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Punjab Police and the Jiangsu Police China, modern and updated training sessions would be held to boost the effectiveness of the force, according to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Faisal Shahkar.

According to the IGP, a phased special anti-riots course was being given to all employees to deal with the violent demonstrators in a nonviolent way.

He claimed that the Punjab police were strengthening their ability to deal with violent protests and demonstrations.

In this regard, he noted, it was made a priority to guarantee that the anti-riots force had access to modern resources and facilities.

During his visit to the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters in Farooqabad, Sheikhupura, he addressed the police officers and shared these opinions. He took part in the 14th anti-riots course’s graduation ceremony.

The two-week anti-riots course was attended by 465 Punjab Constabulary employees. The police officers who took part in the course practiced how to disperse crowds who are breaking the law in emergency scenarios.

A specific anti-riots course based on contemporary skills has been developed for the capacity building of police personnel, according to Commandant Punjab Constabulary Ehsan Tufail.

He added that more than 7,000 personnel have undergone training in the special anti-riots course.

According to the IGP, this training will enable the staff to deal peacefully with protests, rallies, and aggressive protestors.

He commended the Jawans for their outstanding demonstration of professional training, real-world skills, and contemporary practices.

Later, the IGP issued instructions regarding the upgrading of training modules, and the IG Punjab presided over a meeting during which the Commandant of the Punjab Constabulary provided a report on other professional topics, including training courses.
