The Punjab interim administration announced a significant 35 percent increase in the remuneration of government employees in grades 1 to 16.

According to the official statement, the administration has also approved a 30% increase in the wages of employees in grades 17 to 22.
Furthermore, the regional government has approved a 17.5 percent increase in pension payments.
Salary increases, however, will be implemented based on the existing base salary of civil servants, as specified in the notification.
It is worth noting that government employees in Punjab recently demonstrated in order to secure a pay raise. The protests ended with federal government assurances.
A coalition known as the All Government Employees Alliance had been formed in order to put pressure on the Punjab government to concede to their demands.
According to a notification issued by Punjab Finance Secretary Mujahid Sherdil, salaries for government employees in grades 1 through 16 have been increased by 35%, while salaries for employees in grades 17 through 22 have been increased by 30%.
The pension of retired government employees has been increased by 17.5 percent, and the government has withdrawn the notification of a 5% increase in pension.
According to the notification, the pension increase will not apply to government employees who retired on or after August 1, this year.
The salary and pension increases will take effect on August 1, and the Punjab Finance Department has notified all concerned departments.
