Psx drops 251 points to end the day at 42,243

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)‘s 100-index saw a bearish trend on Thursday, dropping 251.52 points, or 0.59 percent, to close at 42,243.33 points as opposed to 42,494.85 points the previous working day.

A total of 281,734,872 shares were exchanged throughout the day as opposed to 373,184,207 shares the day before, and the share price was Rs. 7.795 billion as opposed to Rs. 13.680 billion on the previous trading day.

A total of 343 firms traded shares on the stock market; 130 of them saw gains, 193 suffered losses, and 20 saw their share prices stay the same.

With a volume of 19,675,675 shares and a price per share of Rs.20.43, Unity Foods Ltd., K-Electric Ltd., and WorldCall Telecom were the top three trading firms, followed by volumes of 19,236,500 and Rs.3.10 and 18,374,000 and Rs.1.30, respectively.

Unilever Foods saw the greatest rise of Rs. 500 per share, finishing at Rs. 25,000; in contrast, Nestle PakistanXD came in second, with share prices rising by Rs. 45 to Rs. 6,100.

Gatron Ind. saw the largest fall of Rs. 26.40 per share, finishing at Rs. 361.10, and was closely followed by Indus Motor Company, whose share price fell by Rs. 16.18 to reach Rs. 1,054.02.
