President Arif Alvi appeals international technology firms to invest in Pakistan

Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan, has invited multinational technology businesses to invest in the country since it has a large talent pool and a favorable investment environment.

On Friday, the President said Pakistan offered significant investment prospects in the domains of IT and digitalization at a virtual conference with technology entrepreneurs based in Singapore.

He went on to say that multinational enterprises needed to take advantage of the country’s business-friendly environment.

App development, AI-based digital identification solutions, digital payments, e-commerce, and digital remittance platforms were all highlighted as areas where Pakistan presented huge prospects to invest in technology companies.

It was also mentioned that Pakistan’s IT talent was a huge draw for the international market.

Dr. Arif Alvi stressed the necessity of adopting technology-based solutions, saying that firms must leverage emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence and Big Data solutions, to take advantage of Pakistan’s business potential.

He stated that the Pakistani government was working on digitization, data integration, and cyber security while also providing one-stop shopping for foreign companies.

He stated that the government was dedicated to encouraging foreign investment in the technology sector by creating Special Technology Zones and enhancing the country’s ease of doing business.
