In light of the recent political unrest in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chosen to move the white-ball leg of the Australia series to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The ODIs and one-off T20 international were supposed to be played in Rawalpindi, however due to political uncertainty in Islamabad, PCB said that they have prepared Plan A and B for the rest of the series.
The political temperature in Pakistan has recently risen, with opposition parties banding together to depose Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and political groups in Islamabad are anticipated to hold rallies, protests, and sit-ins.
From March 29 to April 4, all three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and a Twenty-Twenty International (T20I) will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It is worth noting that both teams arrived in Lahore on Thursday, where the final Test match would be played.
It is worth noting that the PCB emphasized earlier today that both cricket bodies are in close contact, and Cricket Australia has had no complaints to the decision. The Australian squad for the One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty-Twenty-Innings (T20I) series will arrive in Lahore on March 24.
