According to police, they have detained the “mastermind” and “facilitator” of the suicide attack that left three Chinese nationals dead outside the Confucius Institute at Karachi University (KU).
When the mastermind suspect, Dad Buksh, was brought before an anti-terror court, the police requested physical detention, which was properly granted until July 16.
The attack on Chinese instructors inside Karachi University on April 26 was planned by the suspect, who police say is the commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in Karachi.
The Counter-Terrorism Department had detained him a day earlier in a city raid, according to the police, who said he had helped organize attacks against Chinese nationals in Karachi.
The security agencies feel that the suspect’s arrest will disrupt the organization’s network, thus they are treating it as a significant arrest.
The individual is suspected of taking part in the suicide bombing that occurred on April 26 at the University of Karachi.
The suicide bomber who carried out the attack was eventually identified as Shari Baloch, a female.
Three people, including a Chinese instructor and a member of the Rangers, were injured in the incident, along with a Pakistani driver and three Chinese tutors.
The KU Chinese language center was shut down as a result of the attack. The Pakistani officials have put a lot of effort into finding the attackers.
