PM Shehbaz has asked Karachi businessmen to devise a strategy for a $1 billion Saudi investment

PM Shehbaz Sharif summoned Karachi businessmen on Friday to devise a strategy for a $1 billion Saudi Arabian investment.

During a day trip to Karachi, the prime minister spoke at a ceremony at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry about a variety of problems, including the recent import ban and the economic crisis.

“There are a billion dollars available, and it is an investment gift from Saudi Arabia. As Prime Minister, I put this before you. Sit down and come up with a feasibility plan. Install a desalination plant, and I think there will be clean water in all homes within five years”. I present this to you as Prime Minister. Prepare a feasibility plan by sitting down. “Now it’s your turn. This investment is available. It’s on the table,” he added, adding that on the trip to Karachi, he told Finance Minister Miftah Ismail that he intended to spend the cash for the city.

The Saudis had stated that they were searching for a realistic investment opportunity in Pakistan, he claimed.
