Players will no longer have access to Ubisoft's paid DLC when 15 titles' online functions are disabled

In the next two months, Ubisoft will shut down the servers for 15 games, including some of the most well-liked Assassin’s Creed games.

Since the majority of these games are around ten years old, there are probably not many individuals who still play the multiplayer features.

Gamers also won’t be able to download DLC for these games that they already purchased.

According to Ubisoft’s announcement, the online services for 15 games will be shut off on September 1.

The multiplayer and co-op modes in these games won’t operate anymore, account linking and online capabilities won’t function, and, worst of all, gamers will completely lose access to the DLC they purchased.

Here’s the full list of affected games:

These games’ online features will no longer function on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360.

If you only have the original versions of Assassin’s Creed 3 or Far Cry 3, you’ll need to buy the remastered editions in order to continue playing.

While most of these games are roughly ten years old, Space Junkies stands out as a striking exception because it was released three years ago.

It’s a VR game that only supports multiplayer, and for some reason, Ubisoft is still offering it (for as much as $20) despite the fact that it will no longer be playable after two months.

Additionally, this isn’t Ubisoft’s first instance of doing so.

In other 90+ games earlier this year, it disabled online connectivity and unlockable features like maps and skins.

The destiny of the company’s titles that include NFT-based components will be intriguing to watch if it follows this trend.

This is why Ubisoft is among the most despised companies in the game business.
