As excitement grows for Google’s Pixel 9 series debut on August 13th. Purported photos of the unannounced Pixel 9 Pro XL have appeared online.
These leaked pictures, posted on the XDA forums, provide insight into the phone’s internal details.
Hefty 16 GB of Samsung RAM
The leaked boot menu displays a hefty 16 GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM. Which exceeds the 12 GB maximum previously seen in Pixel handsets.
However, the configuration is remarkable because it combines this large RAM capacity with only 256 GB of storage.
Traditionally, manufacturers provide greater storage options, such as 1 TB, to supplement increased RAM capabilities.
The decision to pair 16 GB of RAM with only 256 GB of storage on the Pixel 9 Pro XL is still a mystery. However, Google may prioritise on-device AI capabilities, which require large memory resources.
With a significant emphasis on AI in current Pixel models. The extra RAM will most certainly contribute to improved performance for these functions.W
Beyond the memory upgrade, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is rumored to include Samsung’s latest Exynos 5400 baseband chip. This represents a departure from the Exynos 5300 used in the Pixel 8 series.
Samsung states that the Exynos 5400 supports the 3GPP Release 17 standard. With peak data transmission rates of up to 14.79 Gbps.
Furthermore, rumours say that the processor could provide satellite communication capabilities for the Pixel 9 range.
Google is bringing back the “XL” branding with the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The first smartphone in this category since the Pixel 4 XL in 2019.
6.7-inch OLED Display
This future smartphone is expected to include a 6.7-inch OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1344 x 2992, all covered by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL’s back camera system is rumoured to include three 50MP sensors for the primary, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses.
5050mAh Battery with 30W Cable Charging
The telephoto lens is said to have up to 5x optical zoom capability. A 5050mAh battery will be included to power the gadget and enable 30W cable charging.
