Pakistani team will be coached by bismah maroof for icc women's t20 world cup 2023

Asmavia Iqbal, the head selector for the Pakistani national women’s team, unveiled a 15-player roster today in preparation for the bilateral white-ball series against Australia that will take place next month as well as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa from February 10 to February 26.

In both roles, Bismah Maroof will continue to serve as the team’s captain for Pakistan. After discussion between Asmavia, temporary head coach Saleem Jaffer, and captain Bismah, the squads were decided upon.

After missing the home series against Ireland in October/November owing to a shoulder injury, right-arm fast bowler Diana Baig makes a comeback.

Sadia Iqbal and Tuba Hassan, two spinners who were forced to miss the Ireland series owing to injuries to their hands and index fingers, are both back in the teams. Leg-spinner Tuba is a member of the T20I squad, while left-arm spinner Sadia is a member of the ODI and T20I teams.

At the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, two players—Fatima Sana and Tuba Hassan—will play for Pakistan for the first time.

Asmavia Iqbal said, “I wish luck to the players who have been selected for both the Australia series and ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. I am hopeful the side will continue to perform in the same manner they have performed recently in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup and Ireland series.”
