Tameside has chosen Tafheen Sharif, a Pakistani woman, as its first Muslim female deputy mayor. Tafheen Sharif, a Muslim woman of Pakistani descent, has been named the first Asian Muslim woman deputy mayor, according to a foreign news agency report.

Tafheen Sharif, who is from Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir, has been elected Deputy Mayor of the British city of Thameside.

She was a member of a social organization in 2012, and she claimed to be the city’s youngest councillor ever at the time.

She formerly served as Bedfordshire’s deputy police commissioner. Despite the fact that she was still a student, Tafheen was actively involved in political endeavours.

She is from the Azad Kashmir area of Pakistan. She went on to say that now that she has been elected deputy mayor, the issue of Kashmir needs to be taken seriously.

According to this freshly appointed deputy mayor, the issue of Kashmir was not going overlooked. In her remark, she noted, “We all have a responsibility to make an attempt to address this situation.” “I’m going to talk about the Kashmir crisis at every opportunity,” she added.
