Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to work in information technology, specifically in artificial intelligence and digital economy.

Pakistan and UAE Agreed to Expand Bilateral Collaboration in IT, AI, and Digital Economy

On the sidelines of GITEX Global, Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif met with Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, and both parties agreed to expand bilateral collaboration in IT, AI, and digital economy.

Previously, Dr. Umar Saif officially opened the Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX Global 2023.

Dr. Umar Saif, Minister of Information Technology, also addressed the national companies and startups at the Pakistan Pavilion.

Minister for IT and Telecom Dr. Umar Saif said, “Wonderful to meet with H.E Omar bin Sultan Al Olama Minister of AI and Digitial Economy, United Arab Emirates”.

He showed a strong desire to collaborate on AI, digital economy, and venture capital investments in Pakistan and advocated signing a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Government Excellence Excellence Program (GEEP).

According to the MoITT, while speaking at the event and speaking to international media, caretaker Federal Minister of Information Technology Dr. Umar Saif stated that Pak is a vast country with a population of 241 million people, 65% of whom are bright people under the age of 30.

He stated that the world may gain more from our IT talent’s capabilities and geographical position.

The minister said, “We have a great IT Industry which can outsource their projects and there is a great investment opportunity for venture capitals in the fields like Digital Banking, Fintech, AgriTech, and Telecom infrastructure”.

Former Chairman P@SHA Syed Ahmed Statement

While talking, former Chairman P@SHA Syed Ahmed said, “A large number of visitors visited the Pavilion on the first day of the event, including the PSEB Pavilion, Ignite Pavilion, Startup Pavilion, and Fintech Pavilion”.

He added, “More than 2,000 visitors have come to visit this global event. According to him, more than 90 Pakistani companies are participating in the event and more than 100 workshops and training have been organized for c level executives”.
