Pakistan Super League(PSL 6 )2021 will be the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League. In 2015, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league was established by the Pakistan Cricket Board. This would be the second season held entirely in Pakistan. It was confirmed by a PSL official that the sixth season will consist of the same six teams with no plans for expansion. It is scheduled to be held in February and March of 2021. PSL will have a dedicated window in the ICC Future Tours Program starting from 2021.
On 9 January 2021, the PCB announced the holding of the players’ list. The player’s draft took place on 10 January 2021 in Lahore, and on 15 February 2021, Mohammad Rizwan replaced Shan Masood as the captain of the Multan Sultans.
Venues
In June 2020, Pakistan Cricket Board announced that they plan to add Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar.It was the fifth venue in this edition of the PSL. However, delays in the construction of the stadium may make it difficult to host the matches of the tournament. PCB also planned to hold few matches in Faisalabad and Hyderabad as well. The stadium in Hayatabad was also announced as a possible venue for some matches. In September 2020, the PCB confirmed that both the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar and Bugti Stadium in Quetta would be unable to host this season’s matches. However, it was later decided that the tournament will be held in only Karachi and Lahore.
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan, the stadiums will be allowed to host only 20% crowd out of total capacity per match; i.e. about 6,500 in Karachi and 5,500 in Lahore. The tickets can be booked from 11 February only online via Pakistan’s online ticketing platform Bookme.pk.
Quetta Gladiators
The Quetta Gladiators are strong contenders for Pakistan Super League 2021. The 2019 champions look excellent on paper by including Jason Roy in their team. The new player still remains to be unknown.
Peshawar Zalmi
Peshawar Zalmi is one of the fan-favorite teams of the Pakistan Super League. The Zalmi franchise won PSL in 2017. They had to make some smart decisions in last year’s PSL draft as they picked players like Shoaib Malik and Tom Banton. Who will they pick this year?
Islamabad United
Islamabad United is one of the simplest and consistent teams of PSL. It is the only franchise to win PSL twice. With the addition of Dale Steyn and Colin Ingram in their squad for PSL 2020, they retained all 8 players. Pakistan’s national team coach Misbah-ul-Haq will look to incorporate more power hitters within the squad.
Karachi Kings
The team of one of the most important city in Pakistan. Team that did not live up to fan expectations until PSL 2020. The Kings overcame the chances to win their first-ever PSL tournament by outplaying arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars. Karachi Kings are set to defend their title this season with players like Babar Azam and Mohammed Amir in their team.

Lahore Qalandars
In all previous editions of the Pakistan Super League, Lahore Qalandars did not reach the play-offs stage of the tournament. However, in PSL 2020, Lahore Qalandars gave fans hope as the team made it to the finals for the primary time in their history. The team play most of the matches in Lahore and fans have high expectations with PSL 2021 with habitat advantage.
Multan Sultans
In PSL 2018, Pakistan Cricket Board added another team within the tournament, making it a six-team tournament. Multan Sultans are an entertaining addition to the tournament from the get-go. The Sultans almost made it to the finals of PSL 2020 but fell short. The team was bought by Schön Properties. Before the PSL 2019 draft, the Multan Sultan owners did not pay their annual fee of US$5.2 million to PCB which resulted in contract expiration. Ali Khan Tareen and Taimoor Malik won the rights of the team in 2018 but they were unable to participate in the draft of the 2019 PSL. This year they need to make some inclusions within the squad. Multan Sultans fans have high expectations with Andy Flower as a teacher.
PSL 2021 Schedule
The countdown ceremony of the PSL 2021 will announce the tournament schedule for the event, same as last year. The opening ceremony of PSL is predicted to require place at the National Stadium Karachi.
PSL 2021 Ticket Details
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to announce all ticket prices details. The overall sale of tickets for PSL matches will start from January 2021. PSL fans can buy these tickets from TCS Express Centers across 38 cities. The TCS helpline will be available for folks that will provide support to the purchasers throughout the ticketing process. The worth of tickets for the PSL grand opening ceremony and the opening match is yet to be announced.
Opening Ceremony
The ceremony will be telecast as a virtual opening program after being recorded. It will be in Istanbul, Turkey, instead of having a live ceremony at the stadium due to the pandemic in a really major way. Aside from the performers of the official anthem the artists’ lineup includes Atif Aslam, Imran Khan, and Humaima Malik in a really major way. The PCB CEO Wasim Khan also confirmed Ali Zafar’s appearance at the show, however, he denied it.
